Imagine Children’s Center is an awesome orphanage in Siem Reap that takes in street children with the goal of seeing them all the way through University. This was another trip of varied goals and efforts. We took all the children to the local hospital for immunizations and wellness checks, taught math and English, built keyhole gardens on the orphanage property, and developed written social histories as best we could for each of the children. This was important because many orphans in Cambodia struggle with their identities or perceived lack of one. And so we hoped having a personal story, even if it tells of a rough start, might help.
